I tried Step 1 prior to posting here. It doesn't work!
How will users know to press Windows key plus the R key. That'southward pretty lame of Microsoft to hibernate these items.

yep, I as well tried the offset pick, Where do I type on the Start bill of fare? there just isn't a place to type like win 7 had!
Windows key+"R" worked thank God!!

i am unable to find notation pad anywhere with windows 10....i actually wish i had my windows 7 back.....this is and so confusing

The notepad icon is located in the folder shown beneath. Locate the icon, right-click and select send to desktop every bit a shortcut.
C:\Windows\System32

I've opened it and saved a bare txt document to my desktop. So elevate that file to your taskbar to take quick access.
That'southward one mode of having it as a shortcut.

Hither it is 2016 and we notwithstanding need to find a mode to get to Notepad! Thank you for letting us know where it was "hidden." I now have a shortcut on my desktop and don't have to enter it into the Search box every time I need to use it. Thank you.
